Help Save Stanecastle School's Minibus! Please donate to help us raise funds to replace Stanecastle School's minibus.A project aimed to collect small change from the local school children and the community which is transformed into a virtual Kilometre of pennies leading to the school. It is hoped to raise £1500 towards the replacement of the schools ageing minibus. A new minibus will allow continued access to a wide range of educational activities. The appeal was kicked off by Provost Pat McPhee and some of the pupils who laid the first coins on the Townshouse steps. As at 21st October the appeal was a third of the way to its target figure. Organisers have distributed collecting cans to the Fitness Factory in Thornhouse Avenue in Irvine as well as the Porthead Tavern, the Irvine Herald office in Bank Street and the Gala Bingo. There is also a can in GE aircraft engineering factory in Prestwick and Friends of Marymass have pledged support.
